Iridescent Creamsicle Pearls

You step into your sweet 16 ballroom party to the sound of clapping and the sight of wide smiles from your friends and family. The tables are decorated with white cloth and pink/white roses, but as you’re examining the tables, the little glass mason jars catches your eye.

They’re filled with gumballs that look like iridescent pearls, each jar has a white satin bow wrapped around the rim. Looking at the glittery gift bags and the glow of the room, you realize you’re officially leaving childhood behind and are about to step into adulthood soon.

You lose yourself on the dance floor, then out comes your cake, you’ve made your wish and blow out your candles. After the last guest leaves, you pop a gumball into your mouth. The taste of orange creamsicle is the perfect, sweet end to the night. Years later, you’re getting ready in your dorm room. You slide this bracelet onto your wrist and those pearl-like beads takes you right back to your sweet 16 birthday party.
